An assemblage of meiobenthic copepods was monitored twice monthly between 1968 and 1976 in a shallow brackish water habitat. Four species dominated and accounted for nearly all the production. All species have only one or two generations per year and each peak has similar dynamic characteristics. Production is determined primarily by the number of generations, and it is suggested that competition and predation determine the life-history characteristics.
