JPI Oceans launches new pan-European strategy

On 29 March from 14-16h, JPI Oceans will launch its new pan-European framework for international cooperation (2021-2025) in a digital event. This new strategic framework, developed by JPI Oceans members together with stakeholders, is intended to provide a coherent framework for efficient and responsive pan-European research and innovation that promotes healthy and productive seas and oceans for years to come. The new framework builds on the familiar concept, vision and scope of JPI Oceans, but also focuses on external European and international developments that have taken place since the first Research and Innovation Agenda was launched.

The revised strategy defines the thematic scope and impact ambitions of JPI Oceans around three priority areas for a resilient ocean: health, productivity and good management & governance. To move from ambition to implementation, the strategic framework also outlines a process for establishing activities that contribute to realising JPI Oceans' strategic goals and vision.
