Abstract
    This is a full list of all European species of freshwater fish, including both scientific and common names. It is hoped that this list would lead to stabilizing nomenclature and make it easier for researchers to distinguish between the fish species mentioned in literature of different countries. It was stressed, that such a list would facilitate the choice of species to be selected for synoptic review.
