Think Tank North Sea reflects on Environmentally sustainable blue growth in 2021

After the working groups on Working with nature and Living with climate change that ran in 2019, this year's Think Tank North Sea is focusing on "Environmentally sustainable blue growth". This theme was the clear winner after a bottom-up selection process (see news release 11 August 2020), which clearly demonstrates its importance for marine stakeholders. As in the previous cycle, you as stakeholders remain the driving force behind this vision creation process. Thus, participation in this working group is open to anyone with a certain connection to the sea. For this edition, the working group will be guided by a triple-helix trio with Steven Degraer (RBINS - OD Nature) as chairman, assisted by Marc Huygens (DEME) and Steve Bauwens (Province of West-Vlaanderen) as rapporteurs.

However, it is still unclear when the working group can actually start its activities. The organisation considers it important to maintain the "Think Tank North Sea DNA", i.e. co-creation through stimulating physical contact moments. Therefore, the evolution of the health measures related to the Corona pandemic will be closely monitored. However, you can already commit to joining the working group Environmentally sustainable blue growth. If you are interested in joining this working group, you can send an e-mail to the chairman of the working group, Steven Degraer. You will be informed in time when the first working group meeting can start.

If you have any questions about this working group or the Think Tank North Sea initiative, you can always send them to info@thinktanknorthsea.be.
