ASSEMBLE Plus launches new call for access to marine research stations

ASSEMBLE Plus is a consortium of 23 partner organisations spread over 16 countries, operating under the European Marine Biological Research Centre (EMBRC-ERIC). It integrates over 30 biological stations and installations from different ocean and maritime regions, and provides researchers access to the services of these stations such as e-infrastructure, experimental facilities, biological resources and technological platforms. In December 2017, ASSEMBLE Plus launched its first call after which a total of 50 grants were awarded. In this second call, candidates can submit their applications at any time. Successful applicants will obtain physical access and/or remote access to the more than 30 marine biological stations and installations. ASSEMBLE Plus covers the costs of a maximum of two candidates per project for a period of up to 30 days. In addition, it provides for travel, accommodation and maintenance costs within predetermined limits. Finally, there is the possibility to cover the costs of shipping biological samples to the visitor's home institute.

Applications can be submitted from 29 August 2018 until October 2020. The evaluation of the applications will take place in six rounds, with the next collection date being 28 September 2018. Successful candidates will be notified within six weeks of the date of collection. Information on the progress of the call rounds can be found at www.assembleplus.eu/access/site-and-remote-access/project-calls.
